What is a PoC (PTT over Cellular) system?
A PoC (PTT over Cellular) wireless communication system combines a communications platform with digital two-way radios that work the familiar PTT (push-to-talk) way, exactly like traditional VHF/UHF radios — but without their drawbacks.
In place of limited range, interference, other people listening in, frequency licences and expensive infrastructure (repeaters, antennas and so on), a PoC system uses the mobile and Wi-Fi networks through a dedicated platform, which gives you:
cheap, predictable call costs,
secure, encrypted communication,
and reliable coverage nationally or right across Europe.
Group communication with no geographical limits
With a PoC system, groups can talk to each other anywhere there is Wi-Fi or 4G/5G coverage from any mobile operator.
You can have team members in Crete, in Corfu, in London or on Mykonos and still have them talking as though they were in the same building, at the press of the PTT key.
PoC handhelds, vehicle radios and base stations behave like a traditional radio — PTT key, volume control, a loud speaker, a rugged IP67 waterproof housing — but with the reach of LTE/4G/5G networks behind them.
Positions on a map, managed in real time
PoC devices have a built-in GPS receiver and can show each group's users on a map (Google Maps, for instance) at the central dispatcher console.
With real-time monitoringyou can:
direct crews and service teams accurately,
deal with incidents the moment they happen,
and keep your people informed, effective and safe.
An SOS key — raising the alarm instantly
Every professional PoC terminal has a dedicated SOS key. One press alerts the whole group and the control room at once.
The dispatcher screen shows:
the identity of the user who pressed SOS,
the exact position on the map where it happened,
and the time and alarm status, for the record and for reporting.
What a PoC system gives you
Instant nationwide and Europe-wide communication at the press of one key (PTT).
Digital communication with crystal-clear audio and consistent quality.
No interference and no one else listening in.
Privacy and security with AES-256 bit.
encryption. No infrastructure of your own
to buy or maintain (repeaters, antennas and the rest). No licensing
for radio frequencies, and no amateur radio licence. Predictable call costs
for use of the LTE (4G) networks. Configurable priority levels
for calls and groups. Position shown and logged through.
built-in GPS An SOS key
for raising the alarm immediately. A wide range of accessories
(microphones, headsets, vehicle mounts and more).
What a PoC system costs to run There are two elements to the cost
of running a PoC system: The device:
a one-off purchase of the professional PoC radio (handheld, vehicle or base station). PoC server access: a fixedannual charge per device , for access to the PoC platform through a dedicated.
OFA SIM *OFA cards are designed to select theoperator with the strongest signal
automatically, at any given moment, so conversations are not interrupted — whether you are operating within Greece or across Europe.
