Why SPOT Gen3?

What if something unexpected happens on a hike, a climb or a ski trip? If a storm catches you at sea or on the mountain? If you want a quick check-in from a remote summit?

The SPOT Gen3™ is a portable satellite communication and tracking device that lets you:

  • send pre-programmed messages to family/friends (SMS or email),
  • make a Check-in to say you're OK, with GPS coordinates,
  • send an SOS signal in an emergency,
  • enable tracking so your people can follow your route.
Satellite network – not GSM The device determines your position via GPS and sends messages over a satellite network (Globalstar), so it works even outside mobile coverage.
Quick messages, no keypad All messages are preset. With one button you send, in a few seconds, a message with GPS coordinates so people know you are safe and where you are.
IMPORTANT (as stated in your text) The SOS button is intended only for genuine emergencies. Note that 112 does not yet work in Greece.

Key SPOT Gen3™ features

SOS

At the press of a button, your GPS coordinates are transmitted to the International Emergency Response Coordination Center (GEOS), so the appropriate responders are notified based on your location.

SOS for emergencies only

CHECK-IN

Send a pre-programmed message (SMS or email) with GPS coordinates to up to 10 predefined contacts. The location is saved to your SPOT account for later reference.

HELP

Alert your personal contacts for help in incidents that are not immediately life-threatening. The device tries to send the message even if it cannot get an exact GPS lock, without a precise position.

SPOT Gen3™ subscription – Terms & Notes

SPOT Gen3 offers two subscription options: Flex (monthly) or Annual plan. The device requires an active subscription for messaging, tracking and SOS to work properly. All subscriptions renew automatically at the end of the term.

Notes (as stated)
  1. Choose the monthly Flex or the annual contract plan.
  2. Flex plans are ideal for seasonal use (1 month minimum).
  3. Annual plans run for 12 months (monthly payments or an annual prepayment).
  4. All prices exclude 23% VAT.
  5. The device requires an active subscription for messaging, tracking, SOS and other functions.
  6. All subscriptions renew automatically at the end of the term.
Annual Flex charge Signing up for a Flex Plan is subject to a €34.95/year (excl. VAT) Annual Flex Charge, billed at renewal even if the device is suspended. This charge lets you suspend the service during the year without repeating the activation fee when you reactivate it.
Activation fee (one-time) All Annual & Flex plans are subject to a one-time activation fee of €29.95 (excl. VAT).
Early cancellation Ending the contract early may incur an early-cancellation charge of up to 100% of the outstanding balance, plus the full amount of any credits issued during the term (including promotions).
