DMR digital portable radios
DMR Digital Portable Radios
DMR digital VHF and UHF handhelds from Motorola Solutions and others. DMR doubles the capacity of a channel using TDMA, holds voice quality out to the edge of coverage, and supports calling one specific radio rather than everybody.
It adds what analogue cannot do: text messaging, caller ID, GPS position reporting and Lone Worker monitoring.
Most models also operate in analogue mode, so a fleet can be migrated a few radios at a time.
